Guest Deejays and artists

It is a Rockdeep habit to invite local deejays to share their rhythms with our patrons.  So far, KillaJewel (ITF finalist, TOW), Suganeedlz aka Rayna Shine (cypherqueenz; CKUT 90.3 FM), DJ Mana (Mtl ITF champion, 2000), Hatch, Kikit, Slyde, Richard Williams (Ninja Tune), Phonologic and Bonnie N' Clyke, DJ Bliss, and DJ Who-Z have shared the rotating wheels of steel with the resident Djs: Mini, Static, Professor Groove, Rawsoul and CheebaCheeba Kid.  Soulfire records' Philip & Jeff have also rocked deep.  Bands such as The Mofo Daisy Duke Quartet and Eclipse have soulfully entertained our patrons, while SaxSeb and Daftadream artists like Lou Piensa rocked the crowd.

Rawgged and guests on da Semi-open mic

On a regular basis, emcees (Chance Won, Butta Beats, Olise, Batist, Spade and Olaf, Ironee, Choog, Dutchy), vocalists (Misty), drummers (John) and percussionnists (Mathématik) participate in making Rockdeep a success.  We felt that an intimate and interactive element was needed in order to foster an overall vibe where people feel that they can participate and not just be subjects to entertainers.  The Freestyler aka U-Rock has been most often sighted rockin' it deep!

Drumming

In case anybody was wondering why we feel it is so important to include live traditional afri-latino percussion along with the music.  The answer is: to remain true to the essence of funk and breakdancing.  It reminds us all of where our music came from and its influences and also, this is something that is practiced in break battles across the world.

Breakers

To inspire, not intimidate. As always, we encourage everyone to dance and claim their proper share of the dance floor.  But regulars on the rockdeep floor include members of various bboy crews from around the world including from Ottawa; Lil Bear, Hickory Stick, and CrazySmooth (Canadian Floor Masters), Rootard and Skilitin (Quad Squads); Montreals Dysfunkshn, Solid State, Illmatic Styles (West-Island), Marvin (UDS) Fast Step Troop, Montreal Tactical Crew, Red Mask, Flow Rock; Crutch Master (Brooklyn, NYC); Victor Q. and Rubberbandance Group); Daltons Posse (France).  Albino Zebras Crew and Silo from Vasu Diva (London,On).  France's finest are also among are guests: Bruce, Anna, Gator, Wanted Crew, et j'en passe.    Big-up!
